Inspired by the "forge" concept art by Sammy Hall ( https://ia801800.us.archive.org/1/items/zelda-concept.original/sammy_hall_forge.jpg ) that was originally for a Legend of Zelda game that was cancelled, this piece was written to play as the player wanders through a mysterious but lively forest with large hardwoods and fog covering the ground. The use of staccatos adds to the alive feeling. Used EastWest Hollywood Orchestra and Platinum Pianos Samples. Arranged in Logic Pro X and Mixed in ProTools.
Perhaps my greatest skill is my speed. This pieces was completed less than 24 hours from the time the first note was written. Inspired by concept art for Zozama'uka in Final Fantasy XIV's Dawntrail expansion ( https://www.creativeuncut.com/gallery-45/ff14dt-kozamauka.html ) and written as my final Project for 2024 Composition Studio. I chose a piece of concept art for something I had no frame of reference for two allow for an unaltered expression of my vision. The 6/8 time signature, loose arrangement, and subtle countermelody allow for an airy, breathable arrangement which allows the player to take the colourful atmosphere in. While I would likely compose the double basses a bit lower in their spectrum were I to do it again, I have left it untouched so that the work I did in a single day is preserved. Written, arranged, mixed, and mastered using Logic Pro X, ProTools, EastWest Hollywood Orchestra, EastWest Platinum Pianos, and the iZotope Suite.

In applying to a previous job opening in Japan, I was asked to compose a theme for the opening to a high fantasy game. No other instructions were given, so I took the liberty of crafting an idea in my head. I assumed that this cutscene would be setting the scene prior to the action, hence the serenity but use of french horns to indicate that action may occur. I had images of a camera sweeping over the landscape showing rolling hills, dense forests, small towns, before settling on a military barrack. The barracks occur when it switches to the staccato piano and field snare. Used EastWest Hollywood Orchestra and Platinum Pianos Samples. Arranged in Logic Pro X and Mixed in ProTools.
Inspired by Galdin Quay from Final Fantasy XV ( https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Galdin_Quay?file=Galdin_Quay_resort_at_night_from_FFXV.png ) this piece is meant to simultaneously give the idea of rest, and yet a small hint of life and exploration, so that regardless of whether the player chooses to sleep or wader the beaches, it feels at home. The use of Guitars with high amounts of reverb give a relaxed feel to this piece. This is complemented by the accordion which adds a drone that lulls the listener. This is meant to coincide with a location by the sea at night where the sound of the waves and the sight of the stars both in the water and the sky give a calming feeling. Uses East West Goliath and Eduardo Tarilonte's Celtic ERA and Accordions. Arranged Logic Pro X and Mixed in ProTools. Day version: https://youtu.be/hwthZJX8aPs?si=PxB8aGk53aWXi-DQ
Inspired by the ending of Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation, this pieces uses the tropes of a piano arpeggio with swelling strings to grant a triumphant aesthetic. the use of field and orchestral snares layered on top of each other and French horn involve the cliches of military victory. Used EastWest Hollywood Orchestra and Platinum Pianos Samples. Arranged in Logic Pro X and Mixed in ProTools.
Inspired in part by the final battle with Anankos in Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation ( https://fireemblem.fandom.com/wiki/Anankos/Gallery?file=FE14_Silent_Dragon_2nd_Form_%28Anankos%29.jpg ) the hollow sounding piano at the beginning almost gives a clock like feel, as though time stands still as the final boss overshadows the player. this is followed by a thick, intimmidating score that includes full chords from the double basses and a metal drum kit. The use of a dragging middle section followed by a caesura build tension before recapitulating the main theme. Created using EastWest Hollywood Orchestra and Platinum Pianos. Arranged in Logic Pro X and Mixed In ProTools.
Inspired by this piece of concept art from The Last Story ( https://www.creativeuncut.com/gallery-19/tls-illust-meteor-shower.html ), this piece seeks to convey the idea of the player character taking a break for the night and watching the stars/meteor shower with their companion(s). Meant to be understated and tranquil much like the stars against the black background of space. Used EastWest Hollywood Orchestra and Platinum Pianos Samples. Arranged Logic Pro X and Mixed in ProTools.
I wanted to show that I could write a smaller, motivic work as well. Unlike "Reassurance and Lingering Doubt" this is to show the other side of the loss cliche, where all of the characters are licking their wounds and dreading the fact that they must go on. Used EastWest Hollywood Orchestra, and Platinum Pianos Samples. Arranged in Logic Pro X and Mixed in ProTools.
